February 2004 Archives

Fratres (to my fellow stblogs.org authors),

Good Heavens: the sites at stblogs.org have become so award-winningly popular that today, on only the 21st of the month, we exceeded our monthly bandwidth limit at the web server, and it stopped serving the sites.

Therefore I have upgraded the stblogs.org account to the next level of service. This will boost our bandwidth limit from 6 GB to 15 GB/month and the cost from $12.33 to $24.95.

The annual expenses for the Fine Domain are therefore:
domain name registration (and DNS): $33.25
web hosting: $299.40

Thanks to the blog writers who have contributed to defraying the expenses with a total of, uh, $50 so far this liturgical year.

Keep those cards and letters coming, dear friends!

Update: As of 3/17, even more folks have contributed: the total is up to $280. Thanks!

They're fluffy and low in fat

It was all Smockmomma's fun idea: a weblog at stblogs.org devoted to the movies. Now opening: the Popcorn Critics.

Eternal but temporary

Rob Diaz gave me the word last night: the Eternal Rebels weblog is going away into the aether. I'll leave up his announcement for a few days and then take down the site.

Bill White's blogging from Chicagoland with Summa Minutiae. I'm claiming that it ought to be Summa Minutiarum, but it's his blog.

Huzzah!

Voting for the first St. Blog's Awards is open until February 18. Congratulations indeed are due to all the very fine nominees, especially those whose crunchy goodness is hosted here at stblogs.org:

As of this writing, Fr. Sibley is in the lead for two of his three categories, and the three group blogs are, like Senator Lieberman, in a three-way race for third.
